Who are you SmokedBeat? Why would we put the spotlight on you?

Average Joe, music passionate, heavy weed smoker, who lives for music and loves to laugh. :)

My only answer to that tricky question is: Because first i’m not looking to be under the spotlight. 2nd cause your are probably as much passionate as me for music. The fact that i put a lot of work into this album to release it as a free download, proofs that my only goal is to create and share. If people like it i’m super glad. But if they don’t i understand, cause i dont think of myself as of a big producer. Whatsoever, like i said, Average Jo making music on his computer, in his bedroom…

And to be more acurate on your first question, i’m 33 old, french born in Cannes, but i have been living in Montreal for 8 years now. I’ve started DJing and MCing 95/96 and i’ve been making beats since 2005. But i’ve been more seriously about it for 3 years now.

Since you’re a heavy weed smoker, please tell my readers about the marihuana situation in Canada.

For me it’s christmas every day, in France we used to be really carefull, using codes, avoiding phone calls,  never be sure to get the stuff, here it’s  as easy as getting a pizza and it’s class A quality. Cops don’t even care about it.

You call yourself a music passionate. Tell us more, please.

I love to listen to music since i was young. I was lucky that time to have people who introduced me to music like Jazz Rock and Soul Music, when my classmates used to listen to Dance-Music (not that i’m judging but…) After a friend of mine showed me how to mix with turntables and it worked, i got more and more into Hip Hop, spending a lot of time to listen to US Rap, but also to Afro-Music, in general Latin-Music.

What is there to be said about Smoked Mood Volume 1?

Everybody involved in the project is a good friend of mine. There was no money involved, just music and love. I’m really glad of the result and the feedback.
