Nachdem der Berliner Produzent und Beatmaker Robot Koch im letzten Herbst mit The Other Side sein mittlerweile nun schon drittes und ebenfalls hörenswertes Soloalbum veröffentlichte, beschert er seiner Zuhörerschaft nun ein knappes Jahr später wieder ein interessantes Projekt namens Cosmic Waves.

Die EP, die auf zwei weiße 10″-Vinyl gepresst wird, geht zweierlei musikalische Wege: zum einen bietet sie drei Solosongs des Berliners, die zum Teil nur digital verfügbar waren. Zum anderen – und das ist mit Sicherheit das Herzstück dieses Releases – gibt es Kollaborationen mit verschiedenen talentierten Beatmaker-Kollegen, die zum Teil auch aus der Project Mooncircle-Familie stammen. Mit dabei sind Pavel Dovgal, Submerse, Kuhn und Rain Dog.

Wofür steht Cosmic Waves?

‘Cosmic Waves’ derives from the very old concept that everything and everyone is connected with and through an universal energy that comprises all that is. The music reflects a deep interest in anything spiritual and mythical but also concepts of outer- and inner-space and the balancing of new digital and futuristic influences with nature and ancient wisdom. Therefore, it represents the idea that every matter in this universe exists in this cosmic ocean of waves, constantly materializing and dematerializing. In the words of Bobby Friction of the BBC, Robot’s music sounds like “artificial intelligence discovering religion“.
